On March 7, Juan Badilla Arias, the superintendent of the Bio Bio District in Chile, coordinated the arrival of a truck load of supplies for the Nazarene families in the district who were negatively affected by the 8.8 magnitude earthquake that struck the country February 27. Assisting was Tim McKeithen, coordinator of ministries for Chile.

The following is a photo essay of the district's relief efforts.

Supplies were delivered to the Nazarene church in Hualpen, where people
of all ages from across the district gathered to unload and deliver the supplies.

After the supplies were sorted and stacked, the volunteers assembled
packages of food and personal hygiene items, which are very important
because the affected people are suffering the consequences of a severe
water shortage.

After the packing and sorting was complete, workers delivered supplies to
the Tupahue and San Jose Labrador children's homes near the Hualpen church.

Also, three vehicles delivered supplies to several local churches who
received them with great gratitude and joy.

Among the churches to receive supplies were the church in Pelantaro, under
Pastor Guido Rosas.

The church in Villa Cap, under Pastor Juan Ibáñez, also received supplies.

Finally, the church of Barrio Norte, under Pastor Juan Morales, got its truckload.

The group prayed for those who were affected and that the supplies would
help alleviate the worst needs.

On March 8, another team led by Superintendent Juan Badilla and Pastor
Richard Faundez delivered supplies to the rest of the congregations. Assisting
in the work were the coordinator of Nazarene Compassionate Ministries from
Peru, a representative from the regional Office of Communications in Pilar,
Argentina, and a pastor from the growing Church of the Nazarene in Coquimbo,
Chile.
